Mäkelä Alu’s quality management system requires quality to be ensured throughout the entire production chain. The operations of our material suppliers must therefore comply with the criteria of our quality management system.
“To ensure this, we have launched the IntegrityNext portal, where our partners can conduct a self-assessment of the quality and compliance of their operations. Our partners are not required to have their own quality management system, but their operations must meet the criteria of our quality management system,” says Purchasing Director Ari Kytölä.
The tool will be deployed one step at a time. We have already approached some of our partners and asked them to conduct a self-assessment on the portal.
Not all partners will be required to conduct a self-assessment. The assessment mainly concerns the manufacturing industry. The extent of the assessment depends on the partner’s industry and products.
A useful tool for business development
IntegrityNext is a tool where a company answers various questions related to its operations. The system will identify any improvement needs based on the answers. In addition, the system will tell the company how the operations can be improved.
The aim of the tool is not only to ensure compliance with the requirements of Mäkelä Alu’s quality management system, but it can also be a useful tool for our partners to develop their own operations.
“We monitor the results of the assessments, and if necessary, we can ask additional questions about whether a solution has been found to the problems identified by the system,” says Kytölä.
