Visitor guidelines for autumn 2020

To prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to apply special visiting policies. We intend to ensure the safety of our staff and customers and that our operations continue to run smoothly.

All visitors must be healthy and not have any symptoms.

You can find our current guidelines regarding visits and travelling below.

A visitor from Finland

We try to arrange all meetings electronically. When a visit is necessary, particular attention is paid to cleaning, good hygiene, safety distances and group sizes, and this also applies in conference rooms.

A visitor who has travelled abroad within the last 14 days

All visits will be considered on a case-by-case basis to assess their necessity. All countries are currently advising their citizens to avoid all non-essential travel at a minimum. Before the visit, the host will check the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland’s current quarantine guidelines as well as country-specific travel advice.

If the visit is necessary, the following guidelines will be enforced on Mäkelä Alu’s premises:

  • The visitor will be given a face mask and disposable gloves that must be used at all times on the premises (excluding separate working and social facilities).
  • Physical contact must be avoided and a safe distance of 1–2 metres will be maintained between the staff and the visitor. In addition to visitors, personnel must also wear a face mask when in contact with a visitor.
  • The visitor may only have contact with their own contact person. Contact should primarily take place by telephone.
  • All meetings will be held via Teams.
  • The visitor’s tasks will be arranged so that close contact can be avoided as much as possible.
  • Good hygiene must be practiced, especially regarding hand hygiene and coughing.
  • The visitor will be guided to a separate working and social area.
  • At the end of the visit, the separate working and social area shall be cleaned by a professional cleaning service.

You can find current information about travelling and COVID-19 on the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare website.
